Over the years I’ve read articles where phrases like “passionate about your work” and “finding your voice” was used. When I started shooting digital infrared, I truly understood, and more importantly, felt the meaning of those words. Photography is an emotional experience for me and I try to capture those feelings every time I look through the lens. The spirit of discovery is strong in me and it shows. I can’t remember exactly where or when I saw my first infrared photograph but I do remember that it was love at first sight. I experimented with IR film for a while but found it too grainy and very expensive. I saw my first digital infrared picture in an article by “George Lepp” in “Outdoor Photographer” and quickly had one of my cameras converted. Since then, almost all of my work has been infrared black and white.
